Join us on Saturday Febraury 17 at 1pm for a special Family Shabbat service. This service is for kids of all ages and their families. The service will be led from the Children's Siddur and will include lots of singing and opportunities to get the wiggles out. In January we had our first Hebrew Calligraphy and Art Workshop in which we created posters for an eastern wall in our home so that we would know which way to face when praying. In Hebrew, the word for "intention" is "kavvana". Sometimes in a regular prayer service, the kavvana can get lost in the rush to say all the appointed prayers at the appointed times and finish everything so we can all go home. The rabbis tell us that when the month of Adar comes in, Joy increases. This month is Adar Bet, the second Adar in this "pregnant year" (leap year). The theme of the evening will be "my favorite foods", so bring one of your favorite dishes to share. Plan to bring a meat or vegetarian dish (no dairy) for this meal.
